Salient Features
The Act envisages
proper planning and coordinated development of technical education system in
the country and promotion of qualitative improvements of technical education in
relation to planned quantitative growth. The "technical education" covers programmes of education,
research and training in engineering, technology, pharmacy, architecture, town
planning, management and applied arts and crafts. The Act was enacted on 15th
December, 1987. It has 6 Chapters and
25 Sections.
