This chapter aims to
explain key principles of research and development (R&D) from a
practitioner perspective, providing an introduction for pharmacists who are, or
want to become, involved as research users, research practitioners and research
leaders. It will describe what is meant by research, development, service
evaluation and audit followed by an overview of each stage from planning
through resourcing, conducting and disseminating research.
